C. P. Hale

Was born in the year 1840 in Louisville, Kentucky.  In 1853, he being fourteen years old, he commenced learning the painter's trade in Dayton, Ohio.  In 1866, he moved to New Albany, Indiana, and went into business for himself.  He went to Indianapolis in 1873, where he continued in his favorite business until January, 1878, when he came to this city and located in the basement room under the First National Bank.  He has been in the business constantly for the last twenty-six years, and is a regular artist in the house and sign painting business.  He is prepared to make an old house look as good as new, either by calcumining or painting the walls, and whitening the wood work, or both, as the case may be.  Nothing on earth works uch wonders as paint and putty in a house.  Nothing makes a room look fresher and sweeter than a fresh coat of calcumining.  If you need anything in his line, he will do it up in the best manner, and at reasonable rates.

In the spring the woman's fancy
Lightly turns to thought of paint.
And if you say you can't afford it,
More than likely she will faint.
So give him a call and save trouble in the family.  He makes a specialty of plain and decorative paper-hanging and graining, and as the season of the year for this particular branch is near at hand, it would be well for your to consult him, in regard to the style, as his experience has been very extensive.  He will cheerfully furnish estimates on all kinds of work in his particular line, on short notice and no charges.
