State of Indiana Shelby County to wit

            Be it remembered that on the first day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty five personly came  Sarahan House  an unmarried woman Before me Enoch M. Tucker a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Shelby and made oath that she was on the Eighteenth day of December Eighteen hundred and forty five past Delivered of a male bastard child at Franklin township in Johnson county and that  Samuel Hoover  of Sugar Creek township in Shelby County is the father of said Child.

On the above affidavit a warrant was issued and returned with the said Samuel Hoover in Custody April the 2d 1845

            In the Complaint of Sarah ann House Comes the Defendant and this prosecution is Continued until the 12th day of April 1845 at 10 oclock a.m. on the Affidavit of the defendant and filing a penal Bond to the exceptance of the Justice.
            Be it remembered that on the 12th day of April 1845
            On the Examination of the said Sarahann House on her oath before me Enoch M. Tucker a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Shelby in the presence of Samuel Hoover the Defendant in this Cause Who has been brought before me by virtue of a Warrant issued on the aforesaid complaint the said Sarahann House says that on or about the ninth day of March in the year 1844 and at other times since that day the said Samuel Hoover had sexual intercourse with her the said Sarahann House whereby she the said Sarahann House became pregnant with a Male Child which was born on the 18th day of December last past
