County of Shelby   SS

          BE  IT  KNOWN,  That on the 21st day of September A.D., 1852, personally appeared in the Shelby Circuit Court before the Clerk thereof,  John Hickey  Sen. an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of Ireland aged about 48 years, and owes allegiance to the Queen of Great Britain & Ireland, that he emigrated thence, embarked at Liverpool England and arrived at New Orleans in the United States, on the 6th day of December A.D.,1848 and that it is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A Citizen Of The United States, and to renounce forever All Allegiance and Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britain and Ireland.

          Sworn and subscribed the 21st day of September 1852

          BE  IT  KNOWN,  That on the 21st day of September A.D., 1852, personally appeared in the Shelby Circuit Court before the Clerk thereof,  James Hickey  an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of Ireland aged about 21 years, and owes allegiance to the Queen of Great Britain, that he emigrated thence, embarked at Dublin in Ireland and arrived at New Orleans in the United States, on the 1st day of February A.D.,1850 and that it is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A Citizen Of The United States, and to renounce forever All Allegiance and Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britain and Ireland.
