Be it Known, that on the 31st day of January A.D., 1853, personally appeared in the Shelby Circuit Court, before the Clerk thereof, John Kalenback an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of France aged about 65 years, and owes allegiance to the King of the French that he emigrated thence, embarked at Harve degrace and arrived at New York in the United States, on the day of February A.D., 1832 and that it is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever All Allegiance and Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Napoleon 3d Emperor of France.
Sworn and subscribed the 31st day of January 1853.
In Testimony Whereof, I Jacob Vernon Clerk of the Shelby Circuit Court, hereunto set my name and seal of said Court the above date.
