            Be it Known, that on the Seventh day of August A.D., 1852, personally appeared in the Shelby Circuit Court, before the Clerk thereof, Frederic Marion an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of France, aged about thirty one years; and owes allegiance to Lewis Napoleon President of France that he emigrated thence, embarked at Havre de Grace and arrived at New Orleans in the United States on the tenth day of July A.D., 1847 and that it is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever ALL ALLEGIANCE AND FIDELITY to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State of Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Lewis Napoleon Prince President of France.

            Sworn and subscribed the 7th day of August 1852.

            In Testimony Whereof, I Jacob Vernon, Clerk of the Shelby Circuit Court, hereunto set my name and Seal of Said Court the above date.
