Be It Known, That on the 24th day of August A.D., 1852, personally appeared in the Shelby Circuit court before the Clerk thereof, ROBERT NELIS an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of Ireland aged about 24 years, and owes allegiance to the Kingdom of Great Britian & Ireland that he emigrated thence, embarked at Londonderry and arrived at Philadelphia in the United States; on the 1st day of August A.D., 1840, and that it is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A CITIZEN Of THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever All Allegiance And Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britian and Ireland.
Sworn and subscribed the 24th day of August 1852
