            This Indenture made this fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven between Samuel F. Randolph and Nancy Randolph his wife of the county of Shelby and state of Indiana of the one part and Samuel Fitz Randolph Hill of the county of Shelby and state of Indiana of the other part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said party of the first part hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Shelby aforesaid and in the land office district of Indianapolis Indiana and being the  east half of the South West Quarter of section Number ten in township eleven North of Range six east  also the  South West Quarter of the south east Quarter of section Number ten in township No. 11 North of Range No. 6 east  in the county aforesaid the first estimated to contain eighty acres be the same more or less the second estimated to contain forty acres be the same more or less.
            To have and to hold the above described premises hereby sold and conveyed unto the said Samuel Fitz Randolph Hill his heirs and assigns forever. Together with all and singular the appurtanances therein to belonging or in any wise appertaining to his own proper use and behoof. And the said Samuel F. Randolph and Nancy his wife for themselves their heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid lot or tract of land and appurtanances to the said Samuel Fitz Randolph Hill and his heirs and administrators against the claim or claims of all and every person whatsoever will Warrant and forever defend.
            In testimony whereof the said Samuel f. Randolph and Nancy Randolph his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.

            Personally appeared before me the undersigned one of the Justices of the peace of said county Samuel F. Randolph & Nancy his wife and acknowledged the deed of conveyance to which this is annexed to be their acts and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. And also the said Nancy Randolph the wife of the said Samuel F. Randolph being seperately examined apart from her said husband and the full contents and purposes of the above deed being made known to her she did declare that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord and as her act and deed seal and deliver the said deed and conveyance without any coercion or compulsion from her husband. Given under my hand and seal this fifteenth day of May 1837.
