John  Johnson's  Deed
to
Loyd  Paris


        This Indenture made this twenty second of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty Eight Between  John Johnson  and  Permela  his wife of the County of Shelby in the State of Indiana, of the first part and  Loyd Paris  of the County of Johnson and State aforesaid of the second part,  Witnesseth that the said  party of the first part in Consideration of the Sum of Eighty dollars of Lawful money of the State of Indiana to them in hand paid by the party of the Second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted Bargained Sold [ eliened E feoffed ] and Confirmed and by these presents do grant Bargain Sell alien enfeoff, and Confirm unto the Said partie of the Second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain tract or tracts of Lands Situate Lying and being in the township No. twelve North of Range five East in the district of Lands offered for Sale at Indianapolis Indiana in the County of Shelby and State aforesaid, Containing forty acres of the South End of the East half of the Southwest quarter of Section twenty three Together with all and Singular the hereditments and appurtenances theron in or Belonging or in anywise appetaining and the reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders, Rents issued and profits thereof  And all the Estate Right title interest Clame or demands whatsoever of the Said party of the first part, Either in Law or Equity of in and to the above Bargained premises with the Said hereditaments and appurtenances to have and to hold the Said premises above particularly mentioned and described to the Said party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns forever, And the Said John Johnson doth for himself his heirs Executors and administrators Covenant and grant to and with the Said Party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns that they the Said party of the first part, are lawfully Seized in fee of the aforesaid granted premises that they are free from all incumbrance that they have good right to Sell and Convey the Same to the Said party of the Second part as aforesaid and that he will and his heirs Executors and administrators Shall warrant and defend the Same to the Said Part of the Second part, his heirs and assigns forever, against all lawful demands of all persons ---
                    Witnesseth whereof the Said  John Johnson and Permela his wife have herunto Set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written ---

                    State of Indiana, Shelby County   --
                                            On this twenty third day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty Eight  John Johnson and Permela his wife the grantors named in the within deed of Conveyance personally appeared before me Elijan Kirkpatrick the undersigned Justes of the Peace in and for said County and Severally acknowledged the signing of Sealing of the Same as their act and deed for the purposes there in Expressed and the Said Permela having been made known to the Contents of Said deed and being by me examined Separat and apart from her husband declared that She voluntary and of her own free will and record without fere of Coercion of her husband did and not doth acknowledge the Signing and Sealing thereof --
