Per a certified copy of his military records, CHARLES HOWERY died 28 January 1863 at Sandersville, TN, while a private in Company F, 70th Regiment Indiana Volunteers, at the age of 25 years. Cause of death was disease. He was the son of WILLLIAM HOWERY and CATHARINE COLCLAZIER.
An asterick [*] is used to footnote and appears at the bottom of the document it refers to.

All personal names have been typed in upper case for emphasis.
