                George W. Bryan being duly sworn before the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County aforesaid, upon his oath says that Sophia E. Murphy departed this life a resident of Shelby county, intestate, as he believes, on the 7” day of October 1891; that said Sophia E. Murphy left a personal estate to be administered, of the probable value, as he is informed and further says not. That said decedent left no husband surviving her and that all the children & heirs of said decedent have selected this appoint and requested his appointment as Administrator of the Estate of said decedent.

Major who being duly sworn according to law, says he is the Business Manager of The Shelby Democrat a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana, and that the notice of which is a true copy is hereunto attached, was published in the paper on the 22 day of Oct 1891 and once each week for 2 weeks thereafter.

In the Shelby Circuit Court March Term 1893

            Notice is hereby given that George W. Bryan as Administrator of the estate of Sophia E. Murphy deceased, has presented and filed his account and vouchers in final settlement of said estate, and that the same will come up for examination and action of said Circuit Court, on the 21” day of April 1893, at which time all heirs, creditors or legatees of said estate are required to appear in said Court and show cause, if any there be, why said account and vouchers should not be approved.

            George W. Bryan as Administrator of the Estate of Sophia E. Murphy deceased submits to the Court the following as his final Report of said trust.
            He shows that he was appointed by this Court on the 20” day of October 1891 and gave notice thereof as required by law.
            Said Administrator charges himself with amount of Inventory and appraisement on file in the sum of $1007.91
            He charges himself with excess of Sale Bill over Inventory in the sum of $34.95.
            He charges himself with interest collected on note of Nellie R. Murphy by No. 1, on Inventory $24.00 Total Charges $1066.86
            Said Administrator asks credit for the following amounts paid out for and to purchase a Four Hundred Dollar Monument after payment of all debts and Expenses of Administration. Wherefore he asks an order authorizing him to invest the sum of Four Hundred Dollars of the funds of said Estate accordingly.

            As Admin of the Estate of Sophia E. Murphy deceased I the undersigned, have this day bought of Ham & Sedgwick Pusey of Shelbyville, Indiana one Monument, said Monument to be of the following dimensions, viz: To be about 5-6 [feet] high. 
Cap 3 x 7 1x7 1x6 Dia 3x6 1x9 1x8 Base 4x4 2x4 1x0
B Base 5x3 0x1 1x4 The above made from Charles Clements Design No. 437 of red Peterhead Granite Except Bottom Base that of American Gray Granite and foot-stones included. Said Monument to be inscribed as follows (subject to such extensions and abbreviations as may be deemed necessary); and also 23 ft of Curling cut octogan top and placed around the graves in proper manner.
            To be delivered at the Snyder Cemetery on or about the 15 day of July 1892, unless some unforeseen cause should prevent, and then within a reasonable time thereafter, for which I agree to pay said Ham & Sedgwick Pusey or Order, the sum of Three hundred & Eighty Eight Dollars and 80 cts. to be paid as follows; on Sept 15, 1892. If not promptly paid to bear interest at the rate of eight per cent, per annum from date of delivery. Signed Geo. W. Bryan
