Annexed  Will  of

John  M.  French


          In the Name of the Benevolent father of all  I  John French  of Shelby County Indiana do make and ordain this my last Will and testament

1st  after my death I direct that my body be decenly[sic] intered

2nd  that all my first debts be paid out of the first monies that Shall come into the hands of my executor

3rd  I will and bequeath to my Children  Lewis J. French   Mary E French  and  Samuel M French  the Sum of ten dollars Each to be paid to them by my Executor out of my funds remaining in his hands after the payment of my first debts

4     I will and bequeath to my beloved Wife Wife[sic]  Jane French  all my Estate both real and personal and otherwise herein bequeathed for the term of her Natural life with power to sell and depose of the Same in fee Simple and if any of such Estate Shall remain upon the death of my Wife I direct that the Same be eaqually[sic] divided between all my children and lastly I hereby appoint My Estemmed[sic] friend  Jane M French  my Executor to execute this my last will

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 8 day of December 1864

          Signed and acknowledged by Said John French as his last will and testament in our presents and Signed by us in his presents
