Will Book 4 pages 53-54-55

          I  Hiram D. Jewett  of St. Omer, county of Decatur and State of Indiana, make this my last Will and Testament. 
          I desire first that all my just debts and funeral expense be paid.
          2nd I give and bequeath to my Grandson  Ora H. Jewett  the East half of the South West quarter of Section (26) Twenty-six Township (12) Twelve Range (8) Eight containing 80 acres more or less.  Also one Angle Breaking Plow One double Shovel plow, one st Harrow one Red trim horse road wagon, one bay horse, one double sett of work harness
          I also give devise and bequeath to my esteemed friend  Lucinda Israel, being the South end of the West half of the South east quarter of Section Thirty four (34) Township Twelve (12) North of Range Eight (8) containing (50) acres more or less.  Also all my household goods excepting my money safe.  She is also to have my money safe.  She is one years provisions one milk cow as long as she lives and at her death the said property shall vest back to my own son  Israel D. Jewett.
          I also give devise and bequeath to my son  Israel D. Jewett all of the real and personal property of whatever character I may die in possession of.
          I hereby appoint my son  Israel D. Jewett My Executor without bond.
          The Said Hiram D. Jewett of St. Omer County of Decatur and State of Indiana on the 19th day of February 1891. Signed and sealed this instrument publicly and declare the same as his last will and Testament and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as Subscribing witnesses.

          Before me Jesse M. Harrison Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County of Decatur in the State of Indiana, personally came James L. Tevis, one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing who being by me first duly sworn on oath deposes and says that Hiram D. Jewett the testator named in the instrument purporting to be his last Will and Testament did sign seal publish and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament on the day of the date thereof, that said Testator was at the same time of the full age of twenty one years and of sound and disposing mind and memory and that he was not under coercion confusion or restraint and that he was competent to devise his property. And that the said testator so signed sealed published and declared the same to be his last Will and Testament in manner and form as aforesaid in the presence of affiant and of Albert M. Durys the other subscribing witness thereto and that they each attested the same and subscribed their names as witnesses thereto in the presence and at the request of said Testator and in the presence of each other.
