Last  Will  and  Testament
of
Lillian  May  Jackson

County of Shelby, State of Indiana
Book 7 ~ Pages 137 & 138
12 June 1916

I, Lillian May Jackson, hereby make and publish this my last will and testament:

1st          I will and direct that all my just debts be paid by my executor.

2nd          I will devise and bequeath unto my niece, Mary Martha Chapman, my piano.

3rd.          I give all my wearing apparel including my Jewelry to my mother  Mary Chapman.

4th          I will and direct that all my Just debts be paid out of my personal estate, other than the above specifically devised property.

5th          I give, devise and bequeath unto my husband  John L. Jackson, the full one third part in value, of all of my property left at my decease, after the payment and discharge of the above devises, being one third in value of all real and personal property remaining in my estate after taking therefrom such part as may be necessary to carry out the provisions in items one, two, three and four of this will.

6th          All of the residue of my property I give, will and devise as follows:   I give, will, devise and bequeath the full one half part of such residue of my property, real and personal, to my Mother Mary Chapman, and the other half of said residue I give, will, devise and bequeath unto my brothers,  Ira E. Chapman,  Harry Chapman,  William H. Chapman  and  Roy Chapman,  share and share alike.

7th          I hereby nominate and appoint my father  Franklin P. Chapman  as the executor of this my last will.

          In Witness Whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this 31st day of December 1912.

The above testatrix, Lillian May Jackson, Signed the foregoing will, and acknowledged the same to be her last will and testament, in our presence, and we, at her request, hereby attest her signature to said will, as witnesses thereto in her presence and in the presence of each other, this the 31st day of December 1912.

State of Indiana, Shelby County, SS:
          Be it remembered, that on the 17th day of February, A.D., 1915 the _____ judicial day of the January Term of the Shelby Circuit Court in said year, come into open Court Frank Chapman and produces in Court an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of Lillian May Jackson, deceased, and now moves the admittance thereof to probate and record, and in proof of said Will introduces Ed. K. Adams one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court, on oath, declare and testify as follows, that is to say:  That on the 31st day of December, 1912 he saw the said Lillian May Jackson sign her name to said instrument in writing as and for her last Will and Testament; and that this deponent, at the same time, heard the said Lillian May Jackson declare the said instrument in writing to be her last Will and Testament, and that the said instrument in writing was, at the same time, at the request of the said Lillian May Jackson and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said Ed. K. Adams and Herbert C. Jones, in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Lillian May Jackson, was, at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing, as aforesaid, of full age (that is, more than twenty-one years of age,) and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes, and further deponent says not.

Sworn to and subscribed by the said Ed. K. Adams, before me Cecil Collins, Clerk of said Court, at Shelbyville, Indiana, the 17th day of February, 1916.

Whereupon it is ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of Lillian May Jackson, deceased, is the last Will and Testament of Lillian May Jackson, deceased, and is hereby admitted to probate and record in this Court.

          I, Cecil B. Collins clerk of of the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Indiana, do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Lillian May Jackson has been duly admitted to probate, and duly proved by the testimony of Ed. K. Adams one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said Will, and of the testimony of the said Ed. K. Adams in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 7 at Pages 137 and 138 of the record of Wills of said County.

          IN  ATTESTATION  WHEREOF,  I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed the seal of said Court, at Shelbyville Indiana, this 12 day of June 1916.
