Last  Will  and  Testament
of
Nancy  H. Wright


          I  Nancy H. Wright  of Shelby County, Indiana being of lawful age and of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

          Item 1.  It is my desire and I direct that my Executor, hereinafter named shall first pay all my Just debts, funeral expenses and the expenses of settling my Estate.
          Item 2.  I make the following special bequests to the following named persons viz:

To my nephew  John C. Richey  I give the sum of $1000.00
To my nephew  Chas. M. Richey  I give the sum of $1000.00
To my niece  Mary S. Yount  I give the sum of $  500.00
To my Step son  George M. Wright  I give the sum of $  250.00
To my Step son  J. F. Wright  I give the sum of $  250.00
To the First M.E. Church is give the sum of $  100.00
$3000.00
          Item 3.  It is my desire that a sum not to exceed Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars shall be expended for a monument to mark my last resting place and I hereby set apart said sum for a monument, and request my executor to purchase and have erected at my grave a monument at a cost not to exceed the sum of $200.00.
          Item 4.  It is my will and I direct that as soon after my death as it can conveniently be done, my executors hereinafter named shall sell all of my real estate and personal property (other than money) and convert the same into money and when so done my debts and funeral expenses shall be speedily paid, a monument purchased and erected as above directed and then the special bequests paid as above made.
          Item 5.  After the payment of all my Just debts, funeral expenses and expenses of settling my estate, the purchase and erecting a monument and the payment of the Special bequests hereinabove made, it is my will and I hereby bequeath to my Step children, Viz:  George M. Wright,  John A. Wright,  J. Frank Wright,  Charles Wright  and  Elizabeth H. Avrett, all the residue of my property share and share alike and should any of said step children be dead at the tome of distribution, then the child or children of any such as are dead may take the share of such deceased parent.
          Item 6.  I hereby revoke any and all former wills by me made.
          Item 7.  I hereby nominate and appoint as Executors of this my last Will, my nephew  Charles M. Richey  and my Stepson  George M. Wright.

                    Be It Remembered, that on the 10th day of July A.D. 1914 – the 59th Judicial day of the May Term of the Shelby Circuit Court in said year, came into open Court, David L. Wilson and produces in Court an instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Nancy H. Wright deceased and now moves the admittance thereof to probate and record, and in proof of said Will introduces David L. Wilson one of the subscribing Witnesses thereto, Who being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court on oath, declare and testify as follows, that is to say:  That on the 1st day of July 1907 he saw the said Nancy H. Wright sign her name to said instrument in writing as and for her last Will and Testament and that this deponent as the same time heard the said Nancy H. Wright declare the said instrument in writing to be her last Will and Testament and that the said instrument in writing was, at the same time, at the request of the said Nancy H. Wright and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said David L. Wilson and Robert W. Harrison, in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Nancy H. Wright was, at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument as aforesaid of full age (that is, more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.

                    Whereupon it is ordered adjudged and decreed by the Court that said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of Nancy H. Wright deceased, is the last Will and testament of Nancy H. Wright deceased and is hereby admitted to probate and record in this Court.

Wright has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of David L. Wilson one of the subscribing Witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said Will, and of the testimony of the said David L. Wilson in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 6 at pages 475-476-477 of the record of Wills of said County.

CODICIL  NO. 1

          I, Nancy H. Wright, do make and publish this my Codicil to the above and foregoing Will.

          Item 1.  My Niece  Mary S. Yount  to whom a special bequest of $500.00 is above provided, having since then died, I bequeathed the $500.00 intended to go to said Yount as follows:

To my cousin  Alice B. Dole  of Ashville North Carolina, I give $100.00
To the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the M.E. Church I give $100.00
To my Niece  Mary Perine  of Dayton, Ohio I give $200.00
To my nephew Charles M. Richey, in addition to the $1000.00 above bequesthed to him – I give $100.00
          This disposed of the $500, I formerly intended for Mary S. Yount, and I make no other changes in the foregoing Will.
          In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 1st day of May 1909.

CODICIL  NO. 2


          I, Nancy H. Wright, do make and publish this Codicil No. 2 to the above and foregoing Will.  Since the making of the first Codicil, My nephew Chas. M. Richey, having died, I now make this provision of the property heretofore given to said Nephew – I leave the above Special bequests Made in item 2, of this Will, stand as made, except as changed in Codicil No. 1 and the property hereingiven to said Chas. M. Richey.  The $1000.00 provided for him in item 2, of the Will and the $100.00 provided in Codicil 1 of this Will, I give and bequesth to my nephew John C. Richey, with this qualification, that the special bequests made in item 2 of the Will and in Codicil 1 therein, shall be paid in full as therein provided, except as to Chas. M. Richey therein, and if there be not enough to pay the bequest in the Codicil made in full after paying all else as provided, then this bequest to said John C. Richey shall be paid pro-rata part thereon only.           I make no other changes in this will codicil hereto.
          Witness my signature and seal this 3rd day of January 1912.

Wright was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid of full age (that is more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.
