Haehl
Our thanks to Beverly Plank for providing a copy of the marriage certificate of  George Michael Haehl  and  Eva Marie Deprez.

The first paragraph of the first page says that George Michael Haehl (this is  GMH, the younger, who married Eva Deprez)  "was born ...in the Palatinate....  He was given the full name of his father, who was probably not the first to bear that name."  But, as the church marriage record shows (below), the father of the  George Michael Haehl. who married  Eva Deprez  was  Konrad Haehl.  Both Konrad and  George Michael Haehl Senior  were sons of  Philp Jacob Haehl.  Konrad, the father of George Michael Haehl, Junior,  was the youngest and was preceded by another Konrad who either was stillborn or died in infancy.
In the third paragraph of the first page, it says that "the family, including himself and wife, his two children, his father and stepmother, ....." emigrated. The "father and stepmother" are George Michael Haehl Senior and his second wife  Mary Katherine Becker.  I think.they came to the U. S. in 1833.  I think Konrad Haehl, George Michael Haehl Junior's father, came over later and maybe ended up in Rush County.
I have a copy of a typewritten genealogy that gives George Michael as the fifth child of George Michael Haehl, Sr.  I received it from a gentleman years ago, when I was visiting in Shelbyville.  There are also some trees on the internet that show the two as father and son.  Based on the record below, these records are all incorrect. -- BP
