In the beginning of this organization it was thought to build a room for Sunday School purposes for the benefit of the Southern and Western part of Shelbyville, but  Isom Wray coming to its aid very liberally, with the help of  Joshua Ennos  and  E. P. Jewitt, the present building was erected in 1891.  M. A. Farr  was the first pastor, serving until 1896.  The church grew from a small membership, under his pastorate, to more than two hundred.  Bro. R. H. Moore,  Rob Zaring  and  W. F. Smith  have served the church up to the present time, in which it has grown beyond all expectations, reaching this present year 450 members, with a Sunday School second in the county.  The church is in a very prosperous condition, and will soon be one of the best appointments in the Indiana Conference.
