          SHELBYVILLE -- The  Hotel Jackson  here, formerly the  Hotel Ray,  has been sold to  J. W. Sherick  of Frankfort.  Mr. Sherick and his son Paul will take charge of the place immediately.

          M. M. Ray had commenced construction of a four story brick hotel facing the public square and  Dr. Robins a three story building adjoining the hotel.  The I. & C. Railroad still had not built a suitable depot.
