Two employees of the U.S. Naval Ordinance plant at Indianapolis were
killed as Pennsylvania Railroad mail train struck their automobile at
the Post Road crossing, east of Indianapolis. The victims were Frederick
A. Bird, 30, Shelbyville, and Walker Bedwell, 24, Madison.
Fellow workers in another car said Bird and Bedwell waited fro a
passenger train to clear the crossing and then drove into the path of
the mail train.
