----------
Captain Byers  is agitating a scheme to have a fountain placed in the center of the Square, which is to be paid for by subscription, and the water for which will be furnished by the Water Works Company free of charge.  We hope the project will carry.  Ho handsomer improvement could be made.
----------0----------
Supt. Byers  has made arrangements with the C.,I.,St. L. & C. railroad company to put water piipes in the depot for the accommodation of passengers, and will also put up stand pipes to supply their engines with water, and thus get rid of those unsightly water tanks that stand at each end of the depot.  The J., M. & I . company will probably follow suit.
