KENTUCKY  MAN  HELD  FOR  DESERTION

           William Foster,  49 years old, who has been located in Shelby county for about three months, was taken in charge Wednesday evening on a warrant issued at Freeport, Kentucky, charging child desertion.  Foster was arrested by  Sheriff Jesse J. Smith  and  Deputy Sheriff Elisha Crosby.  Information was given the officers that Foster has been working in the farm of a man named  Haskett  in VanBuren township since he came to Shelby county.  He arrived in this community about three months ago and had been working on the farm since then, it was said.  Foster was placed in the Shelby county jail and is being held here for the arrival of officers from the Kentucky town to return him there to answer the charge.
