CHICKEN  HOUSE  BURNED.
----------
Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Hawkins, one mile north of Mt. Auburn, lost a chicken house and two dozen of their chickens by the fire Sunday night at the midnight hour, and their house and barn would probably have been fired but for the fact that a neighbor passed their home and called them from bed.  The blaze in the chicken house was probably started by a fire Mr. Hawkins had placed in the building to rid it of the lice.  However, the fire for that purpose was placed in the building last Friday evening and was supposed to have been extinguished that evening, but the theory of the fire of Sunday night in that some of the embers had remained in the building.

Charley Hawkins and  Hez. Richie,  of Marietta, painted that town red again yesterday.  A gentleman who resids in this city was there yesterday for a few minutes, and when he left Richie had Hawkins corralled in a store and was inviting him to come out and be "done up."  Richie had a shotgun and Hawkins a revolver.  It is highly probably that the services of a funeral director will be required in that town before long.
