MISHAP  IN  WEST  WASHINTON[sic]
----------
John Horst  was seriously injured shortly after ten o'clock Saturday night while riding home on his bicycle.  He was struck by an automobile driven by a party who gave his residence as Indianapolis.  Mr. Horst received a broken rib and severe bruises to his chest and hands.  The accident occurred in West Washington street, in front of the residence of  Dr. J. A. White.  Four young men and two girls were in the machine at the time of the accident and assisted Mr. Horst to his home.  The driver of the car claimed he did not see Mr. Horst in time to avoid the mishap.  The names of the persons in the machine were not learned.
Dr. Sam Kennedy  was called to the home of Mr. Horst and attended him.  He is reported as being badly injured, but no serious results are anticipated.  Word from the bedside of Mr. Horst this afternoon stated that he was doing as well as could be expected.
