DIES  IN  HOSPITAL

Funeral For Local Man
Will Be Held Thursday

          W. Harold Alford,  resident of this city for 15 years and former employee of the Indiana Cash Drawer Company, died at the W. S. Major Hospital at 2:50 a.m. today.  He was 40 years of age.
          Mr. Alford, whose home was at 956 Morris Ave., had been in failing health for four years and in a serious condition for several months.
          The son of  James Stanley and  Mae (Abbott) Alford,  he was born in Mt. Grove, Mo., on February 5, 1911.  On February 1, 1936, he was married to  Ruth Keith  of this city who survives with the father and step-mother, a step-daughter,  Barbara Taylor,  and eight children.  The children are  Sherra,  Ruth,  Robert,  Donald,  Ronald,  Paul,  Jane  and  Alicia Alford,  all at home.  Also surviving is a brother  James Gordon Alford  of Indianapolis.
          Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Mortuary Thursday at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary after 7:00 o'clock this evening.
