Killed by Lightning.

          Mrs. Appleton,  wife of  Will Appleton,  who is a son of  James Appleton,  formerly a resident of this city, noww living in Blanco county, Texas, was struck by lightning and instantly killed on July 27.  Her husband was at work in the field when the stomr came up, and started home.  When he got home his wife was not in the house and he started out to look for her, and found her lying a short distance away from the house dead.  She had gone out ot pick up some kindling, gathering up her apron to hold the sticks, and was found still holding her apron.  She leaves two children, one six months old and one about two years old.
