COUNTY  NATIVE  DIES  IN  DETROIT
Mrs. Gladys Atherton, 53, Ill Several Months

          Mrs. Gladys Atherton, 53, native of Sugar Creek township and sister of  Roy Sandefur  of Boggstown, died yesterday at her home in Detroit, Mich., after an illness of several months.
          The body will be returned here for burial in the Fairland cemetery.  Funeral services will be held at the Sterling Bros. Mortuary in Indianapolis Friday afternoon.  Exact time of the services will be announced later.  Officiating will be Rev. L. O. Richmond, of Shelbyville.  Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.
          Mrs. Atherton was born in Shelby county and lived in Sugar Creek township until she moved to Detroit about 30 years ago.  Also surviving are the husband,  Webb Atherton of Detroit, and two other brothers, Oatis  and  Howard Sandefur, both of Indianapolis.
