          Douglas R. Barr,  69, of Linton, IN, passed away Mon., May 7, 2012, at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.  He was born May 1, 1943, to  Charles F. and  Elizabeth I. (Colley) Barr.  On January 10, 2002 he married  Rose M. (Moody).
          Doug was a US Army veteran who served his country.  He later worked as a heavy equipment operator/coal miner for AMAX Coal Co. for 33 years while retiring June 17, 2002.  Doug was a faithful member of Linton First Christian Church and was also a member of UMWA Dist #12, American Legion Post #22, Linton Masonic Lodge #560, and BPO Elks #866.  He enjoyed spending time and attending sporting events with his grandchildren and also outdoor activities.
          Survivors include his wife, Rose, a daughter  Aniesa (Matt) Robbins; step-sons,  JR (Lera) Jarman  and  James (Amy) Jarman  all of Linton; three grandchildren,  Silas,  Sammy and  Becca Robbins;  six step-grandchildren,  Jason,  Jamie,  Christopher,  Nathan,  Abigail,  Gregory  and one-step great-granddaughter  Lilie.  Also surviving is one sister,  Diana Barr  of Linton.   Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Charles (1987) and Betty (1995).
          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Linton First Christian Church with Archie Ellett and Warren Shake officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton with Full Military Rites given by the American Legion Post #22.  Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on May 10, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel.  An Elks Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM during that time.  There will also be calling from 10:00 AM, Friday, May 11, until the hour of service at the church.
