Mary Jeanette “Jane” Beckett, 96, of Waldron, died Friday May 7, 2010.
Born Jan. 2, 1914, in Indianapolis, to  Dr. Sewell Briggs and  Lenora (Reynolds) Coulson.
Married  Leslie Beckett on April 12, 1936; he preceded her in death in 1990.
Survivors:  daughters,  Sonja “Toney” Vandiver of Shelbyville and  Susan Hinkle  (husband, Rick) of St. Paul; grandchildren,  Sherry Parrish (husband, Randy) of  Lynchburg, Va.,  Les Vandiver of Shelbyville,  Sam Hinkle and  Noah Hinkle, both of St. Paul, and  Isaac Hinkle (wife, Amber) of Waldron; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Bill Vandiver.
Lifetime resident of this area and had been employed in child care.
Graduated from Waldron High School in 1931 and attended Butler University.
Member of Waldron United Methodist Church and a 75-year member of the Waldron Order of Eastern Star.
Gifted pianist who played for churches, Eastern Star, family and friends.
Volunteered to entertain at the Waldron Health Care Center for more than 25 years.

Burial:  Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County.
