COUNTY  NATIVE  KILLED  IN  CRASH

          Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Piepho Funeral Home in Muncie and short graveside rites will be held at Norristown Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., for  Horace Bepler, 64.  Shelby county native, who was killed in a car-truck collision near Greencastle Sunday night.
          Mr. Bepler, an employee of the Muncie Elks Club, was prominent in American Legion activities.  He was a passenger in a car driven by  Ora G. Howell, also of Muncie, as they were returning from a district Legion convention at Greencastle.  The accident was caused when Howell became confused during a heavy snowfall and turned into the wrong traffic lane, according to state police, and collided with a semi-trailer outfit.  The highway was ice-covered and extremely hazardous, it was reported.  Howell was seriously injured and the car was demolished.
          Mr. Bepler was a son of  David and Charlotte (Diewert)[sic] Bepler and was born at Flat Rock.  He formerly lived in Shelbyville.  Surviving is a brother, Ralph, of Lakewood, Calif.  Several cousins some of whom are local residents, also survive.

County Native Dies in West

       Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Lottie Bepler, Shelby county native, at the home of a son, Ralph Bepler, in Los Angeles.
       Mrs. Bepler, who was 85 years of age, died Tuesday.  She was born in Norristown and had resided in Indianapolis for several years before going to California last December.  Surviving with the son Ralph are are another son, Edgar, of Muncie, and two brothers, George Diewert of Greensburg and  Charles Diewert of Clarksburg.
       Funeral services will be held in Indianapolis, with the time to be announced.  Burial will be made in the Norristown cemetery.
Lottie (Charlotte) was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William Diewert

David  Bepler  Dead
----------
       David Bepler died at his home, 115 Center street, at noon today, aged fifty-eight years.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Chalotte Bepler, and four sons:  Earl, aged seventeen years;  Edward, aged fifteen;  Horace, aged eleven, and  Ralph, aged nine years.  His father, one brother and three sisters residing in Cincinnati also are living.  His sister, Mrs. Maggie Schautz, has been with him for several days.  Funeral services will be held at Norristown at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. J. T. Scull.  Edwards & Hageman are in charge.
