Virginia Frances Blackford, 97, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, Elwood.
Born Feb. 27, 1903, in Morristown, d/o  Zadok Oldham “Dick”  and  Nellie (Walker) Blackford.
Survivors include several cousins, including  George Blackford  of Anderson.
Preceded in death by one sister.
Graduated in 1923 from Shelbyville High School and lived in Shelbyville most of her life.
Lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., with the Rev. Bob Campbell officiating.
Burial:  Forest Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Vesta Blackford, 56,
Dies at Hospital
----------
          Mrs. Vesta Blackford,  age fifty-six, former county resident who has lived near Greenfield for the past few years, died Friday night at the Robert Long hospital in Indianapolis.  Death was due to diabetes.
          Mrs. Blackford, the wife of  Ronnie Blackford,  had been a patient at the local hospital until 10 days ago, when she was taken to the Indianapolis institution.
          DAUGHTER  OF  John and  Ann Corkin,  she was born Jan. 4, 1891, in Shelby county.  For many years she lived west of Morristown.  Her marriage to Mr. Blackford took place in July 1912.  Surviving with the husband are two sons,  Forbes Blackford,  of Indianapolis, and  Bernard C.,  serving with the Army in California, and a half-sister,  Mrs. Fannie Cherry,  west of Morristown.
          Funeral services will be held at the L. V. Hauk funeral home in Morristown at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday and burial will be made at the Concord cemetery.

berculosis.

          Miss Edith Blackford,  daughter of  William Blackford,  of New Palestine, died at the Sunny Sanitarium at Oaklandon, Ind., Thursday evening following two years illness with pulmonary tuberculosis.  She was thirty-two years old.
          The family formerly lived in Shelby county and word of her untimely death is a source of deep sorrow to hundreds of friends.  She is survived by the father; three sisters,  Mrs. Paul Meier,  Indianapolis;  Mrs. Hazel Gordon,  of Newcastle;  Mrs. Jesse Chappel,  Indianapolis and two brothers,  Ira Blackford,  New Palestine, and  Pearl Blackford,  of Greenfield.
          Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock... [I cannot read the rest of the article].
