Thomas J. Bland Died at One
O'clock This AFternoon
From Spanish Flu.

          Thomas J. Bland  died at one o'clock this afternoon at the home of his daughter,  Mrs. William McKinney,  in Marietta.  His death was caused by diseases indicent to his old age and was hastened by an attack of Spanish influenza.
          He would have been 79 years of age the 17th of January and had been a merchant in Marietta since April, 1857.  He is survived by four sons,  Leonard Bland  and  Orlando Bland,  of Marietta;  John Bland,  of Johnson county, and  James Bland,  of Noble township, ner St. Paul.  He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
          Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
