DIES  SUDDENLY

          Percy R. Brodbeck,  retired Edinburg businessman, died suddenly at Major Hospital at 2:35 this morning.  Mr. Brodbeck had been in failing health for some time and had undergone surgery last Friday but his death was unexpected.  Mr. Brodbeck was born in Anderson, the son of  H. C. and  Henrietta (Ryan) Brodbeck.  For many years he operated the  D. R. Webb Veneering Company in Edinburg and retired in 1942.
          He was married to  Ruth Webb,  whose death occurred in 1944, and on January 26, 1948.  He was married to  Miss Helen Whitcomb  of this city who is the only close survivor.  Mr. Brodbeck was a member of the Edinburg Presbyterian Church, the Scottish Rite and Shrine, the Indianapolis Columbia Club and the Shelbyville Elks lodge.
          Funeral services, in charge of the Mutz Funeral Home, will be held at the late home on E. Main Cross St., Edinburg, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Arthur Keeney officiating.  Following the wishes of Mr. Brodbeck, the body will be taken to Indianapolis, for cremation.  Friends may call at the late home after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
