DEATH  OF  MRS.  COLESCOTT
----------
Susan J. Colescott, widow of the late Col. William Colescott, died at Indianapolis Friday morning.  The body arrived here at 3:35 p.m., Saturday and interment was made in the City cemetery in charge of Edwards & Hageman.  Col. Colescott died at his residence in this city about twenty-five years ago.  His widow at the time of her death was the owner of a valuable tract of land, containing about 10 acres located south of Second street this city.  She had been living for some years with her daughter, Mrs. Simms, who with her son, Robert, we believe are the only survivors.

SUDDEN  DEATH
----------
Col. William  Colescott  Found  this
Afternoon  in  a  Dying  Condition
Near  His  Stable
----------
The many friends of Col.  William  Colescott  will be grieved to hear of his death which occurred very suddenly about 1 o’clock this p.m.
At noon to-day he appeared in good health, and on arising from his dinnertable started to the stable with a bucket to feed his horse.  When he was about to enter the door he fell across a beam in the doorway and was unable to arise.  Mr.  George  Emrick,  who was following just behind him, says that he attempted to help him up; but found it impossible; whereupon he started to the house and gave the alarm.  He, together with  Mr. Colescott’s folks, carried him to the house where he died about one-half hour afterward, being unable to speak after he fell.  Mr. Colescott was well advanced in life, has been a citizen of this city 51 years, and has done much toward its advancement.  He carried insurance on his life of $3,000. He leaves his family in comfortable circumstances, and a large number of friends to mourn him.
