Patrick E. Cooney,  57 years old, formerly a well known resident of this city, son of  Michael Cooney,  of east Washington street, died at his home, 1506 Spaan avenue, Indianapolis, Wednesday afternoon at two-thrity o'clock, from a complication of diseases.  He had been in failing health for more than a year, but his condition did not become serious until a week ago when he had to take to his bed.  Since that time his condition gradually grew worse until the death angel called and relieved him of his suffering.
Deceased was a native of Ireland, coming to this country with his parents when he was only seven years of age.  On May 12, 1885, Mr. Cooney was united in marriage to  Miss Margaret Carmody,  of Ripley county, and their life together had been one of much happiness.  He had been working in the Panhandle yards at Indianapolis for the last twenty-eight years, holding the position of assistant yard master.
Mr. Cooney was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and the funeral services will be held Saturday morning at nine o'clock the Rev. Fr. Connelly officiating, and the interment will be made in Holy Cross cemetery.
Besides his wife and father, deceased is survived by three children, two daughters and one son -- Mrs. James Warnberg,  Indianapolis, and  Miss Lorene  and  Walter Cooney  both at home; one brother,  John Cooney,  of Indianapolis, and two sisters,  Mrs. Owen Killorin  and  Mrs. Joseph Collins.  All relatives from here will attend the funeral.
