ERWIN CUSHING

         Erwin "Ed" Cushing,  88, 702 S. Webster St., died in his home at 12:50 p.m. Sunday following an extended illness.  Born in Shelby County, March 3, 1881, he was the son of  Frances and Elnora Donley Cushing.  He had lived in Kokomo for the past 39 years.  In 1929 he was married to  Hazel Crull, who survives.  He was a former supervisor at the Wallace Furniture Factory at Peru, and was a member of the Christian Church in Shelbyville.  Surviving with the widow are two step-daughters,  Mrs. Virgil (Frieda) Grant,  Robinson, Ill., and  Mrs. Lewis (Violet) Mandly,  Gary; two stepsons,  Hobert Daggett,  Orlando, Fla., and  Andrew Daggett,  Gary; and several step-grandchildren.  A son, three brothers and a sister are deceased.  A committal service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Crown Point Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ellers Funeral Chapel after 5 p.m. Monday.
