Patricia DePrez Ewing, 89, of Indianapolis died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007.
Born March 18, 1918, Indianapolis, d/o  Daniel Wray and Virginia (Fuller) DePrez.
Married Richard L. Ewing on Oct. 5, 1940; preceded her in death on 
Oct. 3, 2001.
Survivors include her son,  DeP Ewing (wife, Debbie) Shelbyville; daughter,  Anne Scheele (husband, Rod) Indianapolis; grandchildren,  Brad Smith (wife, Susan Klinedinst) Waltham, Mass., Kiendl Smith of Denver, Colo., Chris Ewing (wife, Emily) and  Andy Scheele (wife, Beth) both of Kalamazoo, Mich., Todd Ewing of Lawrenceville, Ga.,  Rod Scheele Jr. (wife, Sarah) Chicago, Ill.,  Mary McDonald (husband, Doug) Jackson, Mich.,  Andrea Payne of Providence, R. I., and  Jennifer Dennis (husband, Chris) of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Danny Ewing,  Zachary Smith,  Hilary Scheele,  Zachary Scheele,  Emma Scheele,  
Duncan Scheele,  Matthew McDonald,  Brendan McDonald,  Megan Dennis,  Brooke Dennis 
and  Taylor Dennis; and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Virginia Scott  and  Suzanne Thurston.
World travelers. Lived in Shelbyville the majority of their married life.  Moved to Hoosier Village in 1998.
Graduated from Tudor Hall in Indianapolis, attended Briarcliff College in New York, studied dance with Martha Graham and commuted to New York City for voice lessons at Julliard.  After receiving associate's degree, transferred to Indiana University, Beta chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Member of P.E.O. chapter AL, History Club, Catherine Merrill Circle, Wi-Hub, Tri Kappa and Meals on Wheels in Shelbyville. At Hoosier Village, served on the food and social committees, sang in the choir  and enjoyed the Red Hats Society Hoosier Village Dollies.
Loved to cook and entertain and was an avid supporter of the arts, attended Indianapolis Symphony, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Civic Theatre and Dance Kaleidoscope.
Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. 
Memorial service in the chapel at Hoosier Village, 5300 W. 96th St. in Indianapolis.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery on Tuesday.

Richard L. Ewing, 87, former Shelbyville resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001.
Born May 13, 1914, in Shelbyville, s/o  Charles M.  and  Mabel (Griffith) Ewing.  Married  Patricia Wray DePrez on Oct. 5, 1940.
Survivors include one son, Wray DePrez Ewing  of Shelbyville; one daughter,  Anne Scheele  of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren,  Bradford Smith  of Ann Arbor, Mich.,  Christopher Ewing  of Kalamazoo, Mich.,  Todd Ewing  and  Jennifer Dennis,  both of Shelbyville,  Roderick Scheele Jr.  and  Andy Scheele,  both of Chicago, Ill.,  Kiendl Smith  of Denver, Colo.,  Mary McDonald  of Jackson, Mich., and  Andrea Payne  of Providence, R.I.; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by one brother,  Robert D. Ewing.
Graduated in 1932 from Shelbyville High School, 1937 from Indiana University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, and from Indiana College of Mortuary Science.
U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a medic in the mobile field hospital in the European Theater.
Funeral director since 1938.  Owner of Ewing Mortuary since 1946, succeeding his father.
Active for many years in the Shelbyville Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, United Fund and was head of the Shelby County Blood Bank for several years.
Board of directors of the former Shelby National Bank and Forest Hill Cemetery.  Member of Rotary Club, Shelbyville Elks Lodge, Shelbyville Eagles Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wi-Hub Circle and First Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon and trustee.
First Presbyterian Church, 124 W. Broadway St., with the Rev. Gary Huffman officiating.

Elizabeth (McCracken) Earhart Ewing, 85, Shelbyville, died Sunday.
Born Feb. 11, 1913, in Indianapolis, d/o  Edith and Otis McCracken.
Married Willard H. Earhart; preceded her in death.  Married Robert D. Ewing; preceded her in death.
Children’s librarian with the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library for 20 years and head of adult services for Bartholomew County Library, Columbus.
Graduated from Butler University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi social sorority, and later received a master’s degree in library science from Indiana University.
Member of the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Club, P.E.O. Sisterhood, American History Club and Shelby County Diligent Diggers Garden Club.  Attended Christian Science churches and later became a member of First Christian Church, Shelbyville.
Survivors include a son,  Stephen G. Earhart, Marietta, Ga.; a daughter,  Susan E. Jessup, Shawnee, Kan.; a stepson,  Robert C. Ewing, Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Horner officiating.  Burial in Crown Point Cemetery at Kokomo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Public Library.
