FUNERAL  SERVICES
WERE  HELD  TODAY

          Several Shelby county residents attended funeral services held today for  Mrs. Sallie Funkhauser,  wife of the  Rev. J. L. Funkhauser,  whose death occurred Saturday at her home in Hartsville.  The Rev. Mr. Funkhauser was formerly a Methodist Episcopal minister on the Flat Rock Circuit in Shelby county and the family has many friends here who were shocked by the announcement of his wife's death.
          Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the M. E. church at Hartsville and burial was in the church cemetery.
          The Rev. Mr. Funkhauser retired from the ministry several years ago, but will be remembered by many residents of the south part of the county where he conducted services more than thirty years ago.
