DIES  SUDDENLY

Heart Attack Fatal 
To Local Resident, 91

          John H. Gorrell, 91, resident of the Kennedy Hotel, died suddenly of a heart attack at the corner of Noble and Washington Sts., Sunday morning at 6:30.
          Mr. Gorrell was born February 13, 1868, in Winston-Salem, N. C., but had resided in Shelby county since one year of age.  He formerly lived in St. Paul.
          He was married in 1892 to  Urba Ann Murphy  and her death occurred in 1905.  Two children born to this union survive,  Van M. Gorrell of Flat Rock and  Mrs. Opal Stewart of this city,  Omer Gorrell of Indianapolis and  Mrs. Irene Parker of near Waldron.  A daughter,  Beatrice, died in infancy.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
          Mr. Gorrell was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  His funeral will be held at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. James H. Horner officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.
