Major A. Gross

Major A. Gross, 68, of Hope, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002.
Born Sept. 11, 1933, in Hosmer, S.D., s/o  Albert  and  Rose (Janish) Gross.  He married  Carla Beth Henke  June 4, 1961; she survives.
Survivors:  sons, Dr. Major Ryan Gross  of Silverdale, Wash., Spencer D. Gross  of Hope, Steven W. Gross  of Pensacola, Fla., and  Russell T. Gross  of Shelbyville; one sister, Doris Fischer  of Ipswich, S.D.; two brothers, Spencer J. Gross  of Mitchell, S.D., and  Mark Gross  of Amarillo, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Major  and  Spencer Ryan Gross, both of Silverdale,  Lauren Gross,  Kiersten Gross  and  Alex Gross, all of Hope,  Caleb Gross  and  Hannah Rose Gross, both of Pensacola,  Chris Gross,  Nick Gross  and  Susan Gross, all of Shelbyville.
Owner and operator of Major’s True Value Hardware in Hope and Major’s Variety Store in Shelbyville.
Member of Hope United Methodist Church and former member of First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
Served in the U.S. Army.
Burial will be in Hope Moravian Cemetery in Hope.

Mrs. Catherine Gross Dead.
----------
          Mrs. Catherine Gross  died at her residence, 1043 Hosbrook street, Indianapolis, Saturday, November 10, at 8:50 a.m., of paralysis, aged eighty-six years and eleven months.  She leaves three children, two daughters and one son,  Mrs. Woods  of Cincinnati and  Miss Phoebe Gross  and   Jacob Gueitell  of Indianapolis.
          Funeral services will be held in the Second English Lutheran church, Indianapolis, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13.  Interment in Crown Hill cemetery in Indianapolis, Marshall G. Tindall in charge.
