Mr. Alfred Major received word this morning of the death of Carey Gwynne at Washington, D.C., at five o'clock on December 28th, 1883, aged seventy-three years after a short but painful illness. Mr. Gwynne was a former citizen of this county and left here for Washington in 1855. His many old friends here will hear of his demise with regret, and the Democrat joins with them in extending sympathy ot the bereaved relatives.
