          May Hasty, 97, R. 5, died at 7:55 Monday evening at Rush Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient the past five weeks.  Mrs. Hasty was born September 6, 1876 in Rush county, the daughter of  Richard and  Alice Mae Scull Whitinger.  She was married to  Wilson C. Hasty  on August 12, 1900.  Mr. Hasty died January 25, 1940.
          The deceased was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.  She worked for a short time at the local Ward Stilson Garment Mfg. Co., several years ago.
          Surviving are two daughters,  Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) Waggoner,  Indianapolis and  Mrs. John (Delores) Burnworth,  Muncie; a son,  Robert Hasty,  R. 5; a brother,  Bert Whitinger,  Blue Ridge; six grandchildren,  Mrs. Robert (Joan Alice) Marshall,  Ft. Wayne,  Mrs. Paul (Jean Ann) Kerwin,  Richardson, Texas,  Mrs. Larry L. (Carolyn) Jackson,  Clark Air Base, Philippines,  Mrs. Robert (Jomyla) Choate,  Danville, Illinois,  Robert S. Waggoner  and  Gene Waggoner,  Indianapolis; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  Three daughters, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
          Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wyatt Morre Mortuary with Rev. Summer Walters officiating.  Burial will follow in the Milroy Cemetery.
          Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Wednesday where the family will be present from 2-5 and 7-9.
