Former Shelbyville resident  Stella Katherine “Kate” Hinshaw, 90, died Wednesday, Brownsburg.
Born on Feb. 3, 1908, in Dayton, Ohio, d/o  Rev. George and Gertrude (Spyker) Stine.
On June 7, 1935, she married  Ray Hinshaw, who preceded her in death.
Moved from Shelbyville to Indianapolis in 1986.
Teacher for 22 years, teaching at Wanamaker, Morristown and Shelbyville schools.
She retired in 1973.
Member of the Friends of the Library, Sigma Lambda Chi and the Book Review Club, all of Shelbyville.
Member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville for more than 50 years, she had taught Sunday school.  Current member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Indianapolis.
Survivors include a son, Michael Hinshaw, Brownsburg; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother.
Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, with James Wagner officiating.
Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.
