          Mrs. Hallie Hipatia Kappel, daughter of George Marion and Mary Bell Copple McBane, was born in Shelbyville, Ind., Mar. 25, 1888, and passed away Jan. 6, 1969, in St. Joseph's hospital, Concordia, Kans. Her family moved to Meredith Township, Cloud County, Kans., when she was eight years old.
          She was united in marriage to George Walter Kappel, Sept. 2, 1918, in Abilene, Kans. They moved to Glasco shortly after. To this union were born two children, Lyle Brown and Bernice Georgena Williams, both of Kansas City, Mo. There are two granddaughters.
          Surviving are her husband, two children, the two granddaughters, and one sister, Mrs. Nell Giesecke of Delphos, Kans. Preceding her in death were five brothers, Pearlie Lee, Albert Carey, Richard Ora, John Franklin, and Perry William McBane.
          She was a member of the Glasco United American Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
          She was a loving wife and mother, a devout Christian, and kind to all who knew her.
          Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 8 at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Priest officiating.
          Organist was Nadine Teasley and vocalist, Russell King.
          Pallbearers were Bob Barnum, Fred Harper, Dwaine Smejkal, John Harper, G.R. McGinn and Andy Struble.
          Interment was in Glasco Cemetery.
          Dean Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
