          Charles L. Knoebel, 72, 1121 S. Noble St., died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  Born Oct. 8, 1919, in Madison, Ind., he was the son of  Charles M. and  Matilda (Roche) Knoebel Sr.  On Apr. 11, 1943, he married  Miriam Weintraut,  and she survives.  Other survivors include daughters,  Mrs. James (Cheryl) Nolley,  Shelbyville,  Mrs. Bruce (Cindy) Butzin,  Kokomo; three grandchildren; and a sister,  Mrs. Martha McCarty,  Franklin.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean conflict.
          Services in charge of Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

C. M. Knoebel Sr. Dies in Franklin

          Charles M. Knoebel Sr., 77, Frankln, died Saturday at 5 p.m. in Johnson County Memorial Hospital after a brief illnes. He was the father of Charles Knoebel Jr., 1121 S. Noble St., Shelbyville. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Martha McCarty, Franklin, and several grandchildren.
          Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Franklin and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Shelbyville. Friends may call at Flinn-Maguire Funeral home, Franklin, today between 7 and 9 p.m.
