Katherine L. Lozier, 87
----------
          Katherine L. Lozier,  87, of North Vernon, passed away at her residence on Monday, Nov. 30.  Born Oct. 3, 1922 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late  Franklin L. and  Thelma Ora Stevens Taggart.  She married  James Lozier  on Nov. 11, 1949.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2000.
          Katherine enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, watching Gaither gospel videos, cooking and collecting elephants.
          She is survived by two daughters,  Janet (Jim) Summers  of Louisville and  Kathy Brown  of North Vernon; a son,  Mark B. Lozier  of North Vernon; a brother,  Robert Taggart  of Greenwood; a sister,  Virginia Stewart  of Shelbyville;  Claudette Young,  her caregiver; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son,  James Michael Lozier;  a grandson,  Michael Lozier;  a brother,  James Taggart;  and two sisters,  Delores Mclain  and  Norma Stanley.
          Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Rev. Kristopher Brown will be officiating.  Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery.
          Memorials may be made through Sawyer-Pickett to the Alzheimer's Association.  Arrangements are in care of Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service.

          James Michael "Mike" Lozier,  56, of North Vernon died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.  He was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of  James Sr. and  Katherine Taggart Lozier.  He had worked at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center and in general construction.  He enjoyed making lighthouses.
          He is survived by his mother, Katherine Lozier of North Vernon; one son,  Jason Scroggins  of North Vernon; one daughter,  Kayla Lozier  of North Vernon; two sisters,  Jan Summers  of Louisville, Ky. and  Kathy Brown  of North Vernon; one brother,  Mark Lozier  of North Vernon; and two nephews.
          He was preceded in death by his father and one son,  James Michael Lozier III.
          The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon.  Friends may call at the funeral home today from 1 p.m. until the service.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family.  Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

          Kimberly Margaret Ann Lozier,  18, R.R. 9, Greensburg, died about 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 1987, in an automobile accident on Indiana 3 and 46.  She was born Nov. 30, 1968, in Greensburg, the daughter of  Dale and  Judith Ann Brown Lozier.  She was employed at the United Technology Plastics in Edinburgh.
          She is survived by her parents,  Dale Lozier,  Germantown, Ohio, and her mother,  Judith Ricketts,  R.R. 9, Greensburg, with whom she made her home; her daughter,  Alicia Lynne Lozier,  at home; one brother,  Johnathan Lozier,  R.R. 9, Greensburg; two half sisters,  Ami and  Holly Lozier,  both of Germantown, Ohio; her grandparents,  Robert and  Mary Narwold  and  Margaret Lozier,  all of Greensburg; her great-grandparents,  Stella Richey,  Connersville, and  Margaret Shafer,  Greensburg, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
          Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Olliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, with the Rev. Robert Browning officiating.  Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.  The family suggests that memorials go to the Decatur County Cancer Fund.
