J.  MIDDLETON  PASSES  AWAY

Ex-Shelby County Resident, 79,
Dies in Bartholomew County
----------
          Joseph Middleton, 79 years old, former Washington township resident, died at 8:20 o'clock Thursday night at the Bartholomew County hospital in Columbus.
          Death was caused by carcinoma and followed an illness of several months.
          The deceased was the son of  James  and  Carrie Middleton  and was born in Edinburg August 3, 1855.  He was a member of the Flat Rock M. E. church.  For many years he was engaged in farming. Although formerly a resident of Washington township, he had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Heck, in Hartsville, since last September.
          Mr. Middleton was first married to  Miss Laura Hendrickson, to which union six children were born.  Mrs. Middleton's death occurred February 11, 1911.  His second marriage was to  Mrs. Mareitta Smith, who died in September 1934.
          Surviving are four children, Mrs. Otis Wasson, east of Norristown, Mrs. Heck,  Will Middleton, of near Hope, and  Wilbur, of Oakland City; two step-sons, Clifford  and  John Smith, of near Waldron. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
          Funeral services will be conducted at the Norristown Union church at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon wit the Rev. Foy Andrews, pastor of the Hartsville Christian church, officiating.  Burial will be in the Norristown cemetery in charge of Carl Norman, of Hope funeral director.  Friends may call at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Wasson, east of Norristown, after 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning.

Mrs. Frankie Middleton, Once of Morristown, Dies
----------
          Mrs. Frankie Catherine Middleton, 48, former resident of Morristown, died at the City hospital in Indianapolis at 6 p.m. Saturday.  She had been ill since last January.
          Mrs. Middleton was born November 7, 1886.  Since 1928 she had resided in Indianapolis.  On June 27, 1906, she was married to Wilbert Middleton.  Four sons were born, all survive.  Mr. Middleton passed away in 1924.
          Survivors are the children,  Norman W.,  Raymond A.,  Herbert E. and  Richard Earl Middleton, all of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. C. F. Woodruth, of Detroit, Michigan; one brother, Walter R. Norman, of Indianapolis; a half-brother, Ira Long, of Indianapolis and one grandchild.
          The deceased was a member of the Morristown M. P. church.
          Funeral services will be conducted from the Victor Memorvia church in Indianapolis at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. William H. Lee Spratt officiating.  The funeral home is located on the corner of Woodlawn and Dilla Avenue.  Interment will be made in the Asbury cemetery, near Morristown in charge of Ezra Carmony.
          Friends may view the body at the home of the son, Raymond Middleton, at 1514 College avenue, Indianapolis.

MORRISTOWN  WOMAN  DIES

Mrs. Sarah Middleton, 85, Had 
Been in Poor Health Two Years
----------
          Mrs. Sarah Middleton, age 85, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Mansfield, in Morristown, about 11:30 today, after an illness of three weeks.  She had been in failing health for two years.  A complication of diseases was the cause of her death.
          She leaves three children:  Mrs. Mansfield, Mrs. Ward Norvel, of Indianapolis, and  Ollie Middleton  of Oregon; and one sister, Mrs. Molly Itce  of Shelbyville.  Mrs. Middleton was a member of the Methodist Protestant church of Morristown.
          L. V. Hauk of Morristown is in charge of the funeral arrangements, which will be announced later.

Brick Mason, Succumbs to Apoplexy

STRICKEN  ONE  WEEK  AGO

          W. A. Middleton  died at his home in Morristown today at 12:45 o'clock following a short illness caused from apoplexy.  The deceased was stricken a week ago and continued to grow worse until the end.  He was fifty years of age.  Mr. Middleton was a well known resident of Morristown and for several years had followed the occupation of a brick mason.  He was a member of the M. P. church at Morristown.  Besides the widow, Mrs. Frankie Middleton, he leaves four sons to mourn his loss.  They are  Norman,  Raymond,  Herbert  and  Earl  all of Morristown, and two sisters,  Mrs. Frank Mansfield, of Morristown;  Mrs. H. W. Norvell, of Indianapolis, and two brothers,  A. H. Middleton, of Montana and  Ollie Middleton, of California. Announcement of the funeral will be made Tuesday.

          Funeral services for Wilbert A. Middleton, who died Monday at his home in Morristown, will be held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Protestant church in Morristown.  The Rev. J. O. Baker, pastor of the church, will officiate.  Burial will be made in Asbury cemetery.  Carmony Brothers in charge.
