Mary Frances Nolley, 73, Shelbyville, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, Danville.
Born June 21, 1932, in Smithland, d/o  Frank G. and  Mildred Lavone (Stroup) Snyder.
Married former Police Chief  Robert L. Nolley on June 25, 1948; he preceded her in death on May 6, 2002.
Survivors:  two sons, former police chief  Robert Mason Nolley (wife, Donna) of Shelbyville and  Michael Allen Nolley (wife, Carol) of Avon; one daughter, Ellen Marie Grant (husband, Robert) of Brownsburg; one foster son, Larry Elliott  of Florida; two sisters, Izetta Vanderpohl  of Greensburg and  Anna Mae Gronewald  of St. Paul, Minn.; 16 grandchildren, Jenny Price, Navy Lt. Rob Nolley,  Mary Clark, Shelbyville Det. Joe Nolley, Marine Lance Corp. Michael Nolley Jr.,  Michelle Bagley,  Chastity Haggard,  Daniel Nolley,  Robert Nolley,  Teresa Sasher,  Jamie Beatty,  Joshua Crisman,  Amanda Walkup,  Sean Grant,  Ashley Grant  and  Ana Marie Flores; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by one great-grandson.
Lifelong Shelby County resident.
Employed at TRW Cinch from 1966 until retiring in 1985.
Member of First Baptist Church, Eastern Star in Shelbyville and American Legion in Brownsburg.
Proud to be the wife, mother and grandmother of three Shelbyville police officers, two of whom became police chiefs.
