TO  FAIRLAND  RESIDENT - 62

          Ormon S. Norton,  62, died suddenly at 3:00 o'clock this morning at his home in Fairland.  Although he had been in failing health for two years.  Mr. Norton, who was employed as a final inspector for International Harvester in Indianapolis, had worked yesterday.  He was stricken with a heart attack shortly before death occurred.   A resident of the Fairland community since 1918, he had been employed by the Indianapolis firm for 11 years.  He was a member of the Old Union Christian Church in Johnson County, was a past master of Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge #279, and was a member of the Fairland O E S.  The son of  John and  Hester Yeast Norton,  he was born near Harrodsburg, Ky., on December 20, 1890.  On February 3, 1917, he was married to  Claudia A. Brant,  who survives with a daughter,  Mrs. Kenneth Bowman  of this city.  Also surviving are two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews and one brother,  Gilford,  of Indianapolis.  Funeral services, in charge of the Ewing Mortuary, will be held at the Fairland Baptist Church Thursday at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be in the Fairland Cemetery.  Friends may call at the late home in Fairland after noon Wednesday.

          Orman S. Norton,  62 years old, inspector for the International Harvester truck engine works, Indianapolis, died yesterday in his home at Fairland following a heart attack.  Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday in the Fairland Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery.  Born near Harrodsburg, Ky, Mr Norton had been a resident of the Fairland community since 1918.  He had been employed at the Indianapolis plant 11 years.  Mr. Norton was a member of the Old Union Christian Church of Johnson County and was a past master of Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge #279, Fairland.  He also was a member of Fairland Chapter, order of Eastern Star.  Survivors include the widow; a daughter,  Mrs. Kenneth Bowman,  Shelbyville; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a brother,  Gilford Norton,  Indianapolis.
