FORMER  LOCAL  RESIDENT  DIES

Oldfield Burial To Be At Bennett Cemetery

          Word has been received here of the death of  Mrs. Albert Oldfield, 81, former local resident, who died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Dobbins, in Connersville.  Surviving besides the daughter, Mrs. Dobbins, is a son, William Oldfield.

          Elizabeth Oldfield died at her residence in Shelby township, three and one-half miles south of this city at 9:45 o'clock this Tuesday, September 17th of disentery, age seventy years and ten days.  She was buried Thursday, September 19th at Forest Hill Cemetery, services at the Christian Church in this city at two p.m. by Rev. Amos Smith, leaving the house at one p.m.  Deceased leaves three sons, Samuel, John & Albert Oldfield & a host of friends.  D. B. Wilson & Son funeral directors.

          William J. Oldfield died at his mother's residence in Shelby township, at 7:30 o'clock Sunday night, of typhoid fever, aged thirty-years, four months and five days.  He was buried Tuesday, at ten o'clock.  Services were held at the Christian Church and the remains were interred at Forest Hill Cemetery.  The following gentlemen acted as pall bearers:  James Smith,  John Carwine,  John Henry,  John Adams,  T. J. Smith &  Wm. Dobbins.

          Mary Jane, wife of  John Oldfield, died at the residence of her father, Alfred Gunning, in Union township, last night, aged twenty-five years, nine months and twenty days.  The funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10:30 o'clock at the Blue River Church, the Rev. John Reese officiating.  The interment will take place at the Bennett graveyard by D. B. Wilson, funeral director.
