HOMER PETERO, 94 MONTICELLO:

          Homer Petero, 94, 2714 W. Shafer Drive, died at 2:36PM Monday February 10, 1997, at White County Memorial Hospital.
          He was born in Indianapolis on September 1, 1902 to Benjamin and Julia "Otis" Petero.  He married  Lula Mae Fox  on June 15, 1928.  She died September 30, 1987.
          He had lived in Monticello since 1955, coming from Indianapolis.
          He retired after 22 years of service with Indiana Exercise Agency.
          He was a member of the Zion Bethel Church of Monticello.
          He was a member of the Evergreen Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis, Indiana.
          He is survived by two daughters, Patricia of Monticello and Mrs. Elston (Jean) "Petro" Wiseman of Beech Grove; a son William Sinkhorn Petero of Columbus; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter deceased.
          Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM Thursday, at the Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, the Rev. Jeff Messer officiating. Visitation will be from 4PM to 8PM. Today at the funeral home.
          A Masonic service will begin at 7:30PM.
          Burial will be at 2PM Thursday, in the Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood.
          Memorial contributions may be made to the Guardian Home, located at 5751 University Ave., Indianapolis, IN.

OLIVER  PETERO,  74
WAS  LEBANON  RESIDENT:

          Oliver Petero, 74 a resident of Lebanon seven years, died early this morning at Witham Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since March 22. He had been in poor health for 16 years.
          Mr. Petero had retired from farming about 16 years ago.  He also had driven a truck for some time.  He resided in Indianapolis before moving in 1966 to Lebanon where he made his home with his son, Oliver Petero Jr., of 614 East Elm Street, Lebanon, Indiana.
          A native of Marion County he was born in Indianapolis December 15, 1898, the son of  Benjamin  and  Julia "Otis" Petero.  He attended schools around Syracuse, Indiana.  He married in 1915 at Millersburg to  Reva Mae "Zeillinger" Petero, who passed away September, 1939.
          Surviving in addition to the son here are another son, Robert G. Petero of Indianapolis; a brother, Homer Petero of Route 1, Monticello; and two grandchildren. A brother and one sister preceded him in death.
          Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM Monday at the Russell and Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon with Rev. Harry Williams officiating. Interment is to follow in the Cal Claser Cemetery near Ligonier, Indiana, where committal services will be held at 3PM.
          Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning noon Sunday.
