          Faun Stephens Pherigo,  71, Indianapolis, a former local resident, died Thrusday in Community Hospital, Indianapolis.
          Mr. Pherigo, a retired employee of Indianapolis Power and Light Co., was born in Shelbyville, the son of  William and  Bertha (Stephens) Pherigo.  He lived here until he completed his schooling.
          Only immediate survivor is his wife.
          Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Mortuary, Indianapolis, and burial will be in Indianapolis.  Friends may call at the mortuary at any time.

Mrs. Esther Ellen Pherigo Passed Away
At Home In Shelby Township

FUNERAL  TUESDAY  MORNING

          Mrs. Esther Ellen (Spurlin) Pherigo, widow of the late  John Pherigo, died Saturday afternoon at 4:30 at her home in Shelby township, after a brief illness with complications of diseases.
          Mrs. Pherigo was born in Washington township, September 7, 1846 and was 77 years old at the time of her death.  She is survived by four children; Mrs. Stella J. Small, of Indianapolis;  June, who made his home with his mother;  Claude Pherigo, of Wilson and  Dale of Flat Rock.  She is also survived by a brother,  Washington Spurlin, of Lewis Creek and by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of the Baptist church in Jackson township, was active in her community and numbered many friends.
          The funeral will be held at the Lewis Creek Baptist church at ten o’clock Tuesday morning, Rev. Overman, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city. Interment will be made in the church cemetery in charge of C. F. Fix & Son.
